Notice To All StemQuest Summer Camp Families and The StemQuest Camps Community
Dear StemQuest Summer Camp Families and Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of StemQuest Summer Camps 2020. After considering many scenarios to possibly make our programs work, we cannot confidently solve the inevitable concerns of safety, which we hold to be the most important. We just cannot risk the health and well-being of our StemQuest Camp families or the StemQuest Camp teachers, counselors and staff in the unprecedented and constantly evolving situation presented by COVID-19. On that note, if you are considering to enroll in another summer camp program, please make sure you take the time to read every line of the camp's Covid-19 health and preparation guidelines for children and for operating a summer camp.
Please...Be Extremely Careful and Wary of Other Camps or Programs Who Are Open and Operating This Summer
While it is not a competition and we want what is best for your children and all small businesses, we strongly believe there is not one privately run camp or school operated camp in the area who has conducted more research or consulted with more public health care professionals than us, StemQuest Camps. Every week, since February, we have engaged with some of the top infections disease doctors at NIH, the ACA (American Camp Association), OSHA, independent schools across the country, attorneys, insurance providers, and parents of health care providers.
Sadly, but understandably not one professional or organization we engaged with provided us with any sense of a path towards safety, despite all of the new guidelines being presented as early as this week. Moreover, all professionals within our network strongly caution us that we would be taking on an enormous amount of risk and personally endangering the health and well-being of campers, families, and our own staff. Provided those warnings, we cannot operate a summer under those conditions or risk. Our belief is that can always rebuild a summer camp, but we cannot bring back someone who has been exposed to the virus or who may become extremely ill. In other words, we cannot ensure the safety for this summer, to our community under the circumstances and professional advice. So please...we encourage you to ask/demand that any summer camp provider shares their full Covid-19 Public Health Policies and Procedures. If they cannot do this, we would advise you to reconsider your choice and proceed with caution. This is not the time, before any single school has opened, to proceed in a cavalier manner. We work with children, parents and loved ones and here at StemQuest Camps, every decision made is 100% predicated on their safety.
StemQuest Summer Camps Has Gone Virtual and Online
While we are not able to offer the programming we had scheduled for this summer, we have prepared the best possible option for you and your family through this difficult time. Since February we have prepared a contingency plan to take our summer camp virtual. Although never did we truly want to enact this backup plan, we are both thankful and relieved to announce that our Virtual Summer Camp is now open and programs will begin Monday, June 1st.
We know there is no substitute for an in-person and on-location StemQuest Summer Camp experience. However, our entire team has worked tirelessly, with the same dedication and work ethic that makes StemQuest Summer Camps so special, to create a live, online camp experience filled with an overwhelming amount of fun, project-based learning and well, even more fun! Please see below for additional information. We encourage you to visit our website, which details all of our new virtual summer camp offerings for boys and girls ages 3 to 15.
We also encourage you to join one of our upcoming and extremely popular Virtual Summer Camp Open Houses, where we present all relevant information and share all pertinent details about the new online offerings.
YES. We Will Return in 2021
Yes, we are already thinking about summer 2021! In fact, we cannot wait! Our 2021 Camp offerings will mirror the camp programs from this current season - with a few additions and tweaks to enhance the experience and make 2021 bigger and better than any summer in our company's history. We hope and trust you will choose to once again join us, because without you there is no camp - we cannot do this without you!
Again, we will return better than ever in 2021 and look forward to seeing each and every one of you again.
We understand this news is disappointing, if not completely unexpected. All of us here at StemQuest Summer Camp headquarters have children at home ranging in age from 1 to 11 years old, so please trust that it pains us to announce to our own children that in-person/on-location camp will not happen this summer for the first time in our 22-year company history. However, the reality is that we need to be overly safe and we need to be vigilant. We need to evaluate, reevaluate and reimagine as we navigate through these anomalous times. You are all very special to us, and we join you in wanting the best for your children, your extended families and our own family of counselors and instructors.
We hope to see you online this summer!
